I was wondering how you made the distressed shorts. The only thing I can ever do is cut a pair of jeans and put them in the dryer to fray the edges. I love those blue distressed shorts that look like they were bleached, by the way!morganmcnair
Hi! Yes the blue ones were bleached. We use a small power tool called a Dremel. It comes with lots of different kinds of bits. We use the round sanding bit. I’ve found it to be the fastest way to distress denim…by far. If you don’t have power tools laying around at home, there are lots of other things I’ve had luck with. I’ve used scissors, a serrated knife, wire brush, etc. When I do the fraying around the leg hole I typically cut them and rough up the edge with scissors then take a safety pin or needle and pull down all the threads running horizontally. It’s labor intensive, but it’s the best way to get those really long hanging threads. Dryer is always a great move. The highest heat setting will get you the best results. Hope this helped a little!

This is the second summer my store (Highway Robbery Vintage) is carrying high waisted denim shorts. We make every pair in house and by hand. We dye, destroy, and embellish them ourselves to make them one of a kind. The process is tedious….but well worth it in the end. I’ve been listening to feedback from my customers over the past year and try to take their comments/complaints into account when creating new styles.

So, my boyfriend just did the greatest thing - he bought me tickets to the Spring Fever Tour! I haven't been able to see ATL since November 2011, due to time spent in the hospital. During that time, my boyfriend called me every day and sang to me. He knows that ATL and Pierce the Veil are my favorite bands, and the fact that he spent his own money... It's astonishing. I'm a lucky gal, haha. (Oh, and also - you have great fashion sense. I have to add that in!) xrockywillows
